Tamarindo, in Guanacaste Province on Costa Rica’s northern Pacific coast, has a deserved reputation as a surfers' mecca. It offers a wide variety of surf breaks -- beach, river-mouth and reef -- so surfers of all abilities can relax with, or improve upon, their skills. Although the area and the town itself are well provisioned, potential visitors should be aware of some hiccups.
